StocksandGreen
A cottage garden favourite, this easy-grow perennial is often used against walls and for edging pathways, where it will attract bees and other useful pollinators. Subtly fragrant, the pink-red flowers are borne between spring and autumn. This selection is excellent for cutting. Flowers June to October. Planting sow under glass between March and June. Sprinkle seeds onto moist compost and cover lightly with soil. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them and harden off before planting out in late April or early May. Alternatively, sow directly in the garden between April and June. Sow sparingly and shallow, just 2-3mm deep. Thin out seedlings to 30 40cms apart when theyve germinated. Aftercare to prevent self-seeding, prune back hard in July or after the first flowering. Eventual height & spread 80 30cms.
