The bright yellow flowers of this handsome Rudbeckia have olive-green centres. Glorious in the garden, it enjoys a long flowering season and makes a wonderful cut flower. Very attractive to pollinators. Flowers August to October. Planting sow under glass February July, in moist seed compost, covering over with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite, as light is essential for germination. Germinates at temperatures of +20C. If no germination occurs after 4 weeks, move to temperature of -4C+4C for 4 weeks to stratify, and then return to the warmth. When large enough to handle, transplant and harden off before planting out at 45cms spacing, in a sunny or semi-shaded position once all threat of frost has passed. Aftercare deadhead to avoid self-seeding. Mulch as necessary to keep the soil moist. Eventual height & spread 60 30cms.
